Financial Policy

Our office tries to accommodate all patients with or without dental insurance. Only about 60% of our patients have dental insurance so keeping our fees as low as possible is important to us. Cash, Check, Visa, Master card, Discover, American Express and Care Credit are all gladly accepted.

Our office offers a 10% senior citizen discount for all patients 65 and over as well an active military, police and firemen. We offer several flexible plans through Care Credit including a 6 Month ZERO Interest option and several options of 12-48 months with caring interest rates.

Insurance Policy

Our office accepts and will file insurance for all qualified PPO plans. We will be happy to take assignment o PPO plans as long as the insurance provider will make payment to the provider. (Several Deltal Dental plans will only pay the patient or insured.) If you have any questions, please call us and we will contact your insurance carrier to see what coverage you have. Our office does not participate in any PPO plans, we will file your claim for you, and accept assignment (except as noted above), however the balance the insurance does not pay will be the responsibility of the patient or guarantor. Dental insurance is unlike medical in that there is usually very little if any difference between in and out of network benefits. A Patient with a PPO plan will usually have a difference on a cleaning of $0.00 to $10.00. The other difference is if your company offers a High and a Low Plan, and you choose the low plan, you will see much larger differences. I understand your premium is much lower and if you usually do not have any dental problems, and are not accident prone, you may come out better off financially. If you have multiple crowns and fillings, or have diabetes, or had chemo or radiation, you would probably be better off with the "High" plans.

The biggest difference is that Dr. Ruehle believes that when there are choices in treatments, the in network provider may only give you the options your insurance company will pay for. With our office you will receive ALL the options and YOU may choose which option you prefer. The choice should be yours, not your insurance company's.

Frequently Asked Questions

What credit score is needed for financing?

Most dental financing companies accept a wide range of credit scores. However, if yours is above 640-700, you’ll be more likely to qualify for low or no-interest-rate plans. To learn if you could qualify for dental financing, your dentist may recommend contacting CareCredit directly and get a more accurate understanding of what plans you’re eligible for.

Can you pay in installments for professional dental work?

Most dentists that work with CareCredit provide patients with an alternative payment option. Instead of paying one large installment, you’ll be able to finance your treatment and pay in small monthly amounts. Financing can be used whether you have insurance or not and is a valuable option for reducing the financial burden of larger dental procedures like dental crowns.

What types of treatments are covered by dental insurance?

Whether or not your insurance will cover your dental treatment depends on what type of procedure you’ll be undergoing. If it’s restorative or family dental care, most companies either fully or partially cover the cost of your procedure. If you’re undergoing cosmetic treatment such as porcelain veneers, chances are your insurance company won’t cover the cost.

Will using CareCredit® hurt or lower my credit score?

CareCredit doesn’t hurt your credit in the long term. In fact, it can even boost your credit score if you make your payments on time. While there may be a slight dip at first, this is due to the fact that a credit check will be run to learn which payment plan you qualify for. As long as your payments are on time, CareCredit won’t hurt your score.
