Our Denton dentists can strengthen and protect your tooth with a beautiful, porcelain dental crown ⎼ in as little as one appointment These high-quality crowns are customized to seamlessly blend in with your natural teeth, so nobody will be able to tell the difference.

With CEREC, you don’t need to wait weeks, or even months, to get a protective crown for your tooth. Instead, you’ll leave your appointment with a fully restored smile in just over an hour.

Top 3 Advantages of CEREC

CEREC one-day crowns are perfect for the busy individual with an imperfect smile or teeth that need to be restored. While time and convenience are the two biggest benefits of CEREC crowns, they offer a myriad of advantages over traditional crowns. Here are a few:

  • Superior Imaging ⎼ A small intra-oral camera is used to take digital impressions of your teeth and mouth for greater accuracy.
  • Quick & Easy ⎼ With advanced computer technology, Dr. Ruehle can quickly mill, shape, and fit your crown in just a few minutes.
  • Durable & Long-Lasting ⎼ CEREC uses different materials to enhance their durability and make them stronger than your natural teeth.

While you can get traditional crowns that are also made of ceramic, CEREC crowns take just a few minutes to make with computer technology instead of weeks or months with traditional methods.

How CEREC Crowns Are Made

After your initial consultation, we can begin your CEREC treatment at your next appointment. This quick and easy procedure is completed in just a few steps:

  1. During your procedure, Dr. Ruehle will first prepare your tooth by cleaning it.
  2. Then, he’ll use a small intra-oral camera to create digital 3D images of your teeth. This allows us to fabricate your custom crown quickly with precision.
  3. After Dr. Ruehle makes the final touch-ups, a milling machine cuts the shape of your crown using your impressions as a guide.
  4. Finally, Dr. Ruehle will directly attach a beautiful, porcelain crown to your tooth with a durable dental resin.

If you need extra protection and structure for your tooth but don’t have time to wait for a traditional crown, call Garden Oaks Family & Cosmetic Dentistry to get a CEREC one-day crown and leave your appointment with a durable new tooth that looks gorgeous.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for my CEREC one-day crown?

Caring for your CEREC dental crown is as simple as taking care of your natural teeth. Good oral care includes brushing your teeth at least twice a day, flossing regularly, and rinsing between meals. Dr. Ruehle recommends using a soft-bristled brush and non-abrasive toothpaste to prevent scratching your new restoration. It’s also important to schedule a dental check-up and cleaning every six months, or twice a year.

My CEREC crown broke/fell out. What do I do?

If your dental crown has become damaged, it’s important not to worry and don’t attempt to repair it yourself. Contact our Denton office at (940) 566-4888 or fill out a contact form as soon as possible. We’ll schedule an appointment with Dr. Ruehle so he can assess the damage and determine the best course of action.

Are CEREC one-day crowns right for me?

CEREC one-day crowns are a great solution for patients looking for a restoration that:

  • Is custom-made to match the shape, color, and feel of your existing teeth
  • Only requires one appointment, making it a more cost-effective solution
  • Is stronger and just as translucent as your natural teeth
  • Doesn’t require a messy, uncomfortable tooth impression

Are there any clinical studies on CEREC one-day crowns?

One study consisted of 60 participants who received one-day dental crowns. The goal of the study was to see if any damage to the crowns occurred two years after placement. At the time of this study, patients with traditional crowns frequently reported cracks after two years. When all 60 participants returned for their two-year follow-up, none of their crowns had any damage.

Another study on CEREC showed a 90% survival rate 10 years after placement. The researchers stated that dental restorations made with the CEREC computer system are better than traditional methods.
