When are Tooth Extractions Necessary?

It is never the desire of Dr. Ruehle or Dr. Eide to remove one or more of your teeth; however, it may be necessary if:

  • The dental decay found inside a tooth is at risk of spreading to healthy teeth
  • Extensive damage makes it impossible for us to save a tooth with a dental crown or root canal treatment
  • Orthodontic treatment is required to address overcrowding, but adequate space is currently unavailable
  • Advanced gum disease is resulting in loose teeth and bone loss
  • Dental prosthetics are required but your existing teeth are at risk of becoming loose
